Copiapoa columna-alba v. Las Maderas (Chile) is a rare, site-specific form of Copiapoa columna-alba, native to the arid coastal desert region of northern Chile, known as Las Maderas. This population is prized for its elegant, columnar stems, compact growth habit, and sculptural appearance.

This species typically develops tall, cylindrical stems with a smooth, bluish-grey to light green epidermis. The body is segmented into prominent ribs, each bearing a small areole with short to moderately long spines. Mature plants often remain solitary or gradually form small clumps, creating a structured, architectural form.

During its flowering period, Copiapoa columna-alba v. Las Maderas produces bright yellow flowers that emerge from the apex, creating a striking contrast to the muted stem colors. Highly adapted to extreme drought, intense sunlight, and rocky, nutrient-poor soils, this population grows slowly but exhibits remarkable resilience. Its precise provenance, sculptural columnar form, and classic desert adaptations make it a highly sought-after collector's item for Chilean cactus enthusiasts.
