HG Kakteen was founded by me—Johannes Gruber—in Munich in 2018, born out of a passion for cacti. Unfortunately, since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been unable to find a suitable location for our plant collection in the vicinity of Munich. Consequently, in 2026, I made the decision to downsize my business operations and return to Munich, where I have lived for the past ten years. I reached this decision after an attempt to establish my own nursery in my home region of Lower Bavaria ultimately did not come to fruition.

The subject of South America has fascinated me my entire life—a fascination that ultimately led me to the world of cacti.

We specialize in imports and exports; in particular, we import legally sourced *Copiapoa* cacti from Chile to the USA and the EU.
​Additionally, we specialize in *Copiapoa* seeds, though we are also able to supply other types of seeds upon request.

Regrettably, we do not currently have a physical nursery in Munich that is open to visitors—though perhaps that will change in the near future...
