The photo shows one of the 18 - 25 cm large Trichocereus Pachanoi (San Pedro) cacti. Trichocereus Pachanoi grows very bushy, is usually branched from the base and reaches heights of up to 6 meters. The shoots are up to 5 meters long. and have a maximum diameter of 15 centimeters. Three to seven thorns emerge from the whitish, closely spaced areoles, but these may also be missing. The funnel-shaped, white, fragrant flowers are located near the shoot tip. They only open at night , are up to 24 centimeters long and reach a diameter of up to 20 centimeters. Their pericarpel and flower tube are covered with black hairs.
