Lophophora Williamsii can form groups up to 1 meter in diameter, or grows singly. The shoots are spherical and the colors of the shoots are blue-green or occasionally reddish green. They reach a height of growth between 2 and 6 centimeters and diameters from 4 to 11 centimeters. The areoles bear a tuft of soft, yellowish or whitish hairs. Thorns are not present.
The range of Lophophora Williamsii extends from west Texas along the Rio Grande to south Texas and on through northern Mexico to San Luis Potosí.
