Copiapoa Columna Alba v. Madera
The available seeds are 5 purebred Copiapoa Columna Alba v. Madera seeds.
Copiapoa columna-alba v. Madera is a rare and visually striking variety of Copiapoa columna-alba, native to the coastal deserts of northern Chile. Its name Madera ("wood" in Spanish) refers to the plant's subtle, warm wood tones, which give it a natural, earthy elegance and distinguish it from the typical silvery-white forms.
This species grows as a solitary or slightly grouped columnar shoot, with clearly defined ribs bearing areoles from which short, light to light brown thorns emerge. A fine, waxy coating covers the epidermis, protecting it from the intense desert sun and creating a soft, subtle sheen that accentuates the woody tones.
In summer, Copiapoa columna-alba v. Madera produces small, yellow flowers that emerge from the apex, offering a delicate, luminous contrast to its warm-toned body. Slow-growing and extremely hardy, it thrives in well-drained substrate under full sun and is a highly prized collector's item for lovers of subtle color variations and sculptural desert forms.
