Copiapoa Dura
The available seeds are 5 purebred Copiapoa Haseltonaiana seeds.
Copiapoa dura (Chile) is a rare and particularly robust species of Copiapoa, native to the coastal deserts of northern Chile. True to its name ( dura = "hard" or "robust"), this plant is characterized by exceptional resilience and can withstand intense sunlight, extreme drought, and nutrient-poor soils in its natural habitat.
This species typically grows as a spherical to short-columnar stem with clearly defined ribs bearing small areoles with strong, often dark spines. The epidermis is usually grey-green to silvery-grey, sometimes with a subtle waxy coating that protects the plant from strong sunlight and helps retain moisture. Mature plants can slowly form small clumps, creating a striking, sculptural effect.
During its flowering period, Copiapoa dura produces small, yellow flowers at the apex, providing a bright contrast to its muted, robust body. Slow-growing, resilient, yet elegant, this species is a prized collector's item for enthusiasts of rare and hardy Chilean desert cacti.
