The photo shows some of the Lophophora diffusa plants offered, growing in cactus substrate. The plants are shipped only in good condition and without substrate. They are grown from seed in the EU and are 100% own-rooted.

Lophophora diffusa (Mexico) is a rare and distinctive species of Lophophora found in the semi-arid regions of central Mexico. This species is particularly prized for its smooth, flat, button-like shoots and its understated, elegant appearance.

The plants typically develop small, flattened, round to slightly convex shoots with a velvety epidermis in pale green to grey-green tones. The surface is divided into soft, round tubercles, which usually only bear very fine, barely visible tufts of wool. Mature plants generally remain solitary, but can slowly form small groups under optimal conditions.

During the flowering period, small, creamy-white to pale pink flowers emerge from the central areoles, creating a gentle contrast to the muted stem colors. Adapted to calcareous, well-drained soils and minimal rainfall, Lophophora diffusa exhibits slow growth, high adaptability, and exceptional resilience in its natural environment. Its subtle coloration, elegant form, and robust nature make it a sought-after specimen for collectors of rare Mexican Lophophora species.
