Copiapoa Krainziana (4 - 4.5 cm)

The photo shows several specimens of Copiapoa Krainziana (4-4.5 cm) in cactus substrate. The plants are shipped exclusively in perfect condition and without substrate. They originate from EU seed production and are 100% true to type.

Copiapoa krainziana (Chile) is a rare and sought-after species of Copiapoa, native to the coastal deserts of northern Chile. It is prized for its distinctive, sculptural form and compact, spherical to slightly columnar shoots.

The plant typically develops a grey-green to bluish-grey shoot with well-defined ribs. Along the ribs, the areoles bear short, sturdy spines, and mature plants can remain solitary for years or slowly form small groups, creating a structured, architectural appearance.

During the flowering period, bright yellow flowers appear at the apex, providing a striking contrast to the muted stem colors. Highly adapted to extreme aridity, intense sunlight, and nutrient-poor, rocky soils, this species grows very slowly but exhibits remarkable resilience. Its sculptural form, precise desert adaptations, and classic Copiapoa characteristics make it a sought-after collector's item for enthusiasts of Chilean desert cacti.
