Lophophora williamsii v. La Paloma, 91 km, Coahuila, Mexico is a rare, location-specific form of Lophophora. williamsii, native to the semi-arid region around La Paloma in Coahuila, Mexico, about 91 km from the nearest reference point. This documented population is known for its distinctive morphology, precise provenance, and adaptation to the extreme conditions of its natural habitat.
This form develops small, flat, button-like bodies with a smooth, pale green to slightly grey-green epidermis. The surface is divided into soft, rounded tubercles, each with a small tuft of white wool, symmetrically distributed across the crown. Mature plants usually remain solitary, but can slowly form compact clumps over many years.
During its flowering period, Lophophora williamsii v. La Paloma produces delicate flowers in pale pink to light magenta, emerging from the central woolly areoles and providing a subtle contrast to the green body. Adapted to calcareous, well-drained soils and minimal rainfall, this population exhibits slow growth, remarkable drought resistance, and excellent adaptation to its semi-arid habitat. Its precise provenance, elegant form, and restrained coloration make it a particularly prized specimen for collectors of rare, site-specific Lophophora. williamsii.
